A quick update on the situation at Porthcawl Marina as there has been some conflicting advice being shared on social media recently.
As many of you may know the Prime Ministers announcement on Sunday (10th May)permitted residents of England to spend more time outdoors and travel to open spaces in a private vehicle from the 13th May 2020. Therefore some marinas in England are now able to start opening their sites to berth holders subject to implementing social distancing measures and abiding by the new hygiene guidelines provided by the government.
The advice here in Wales is different to that in England. The message from Welsh Government is still “Stay Home” and unfortunately as a marina we are still not allowed to open. RYA Cymru put out their position statement on Monday 11th May which I have included a link to below:

Fishing in Wales has now been permitted by Welsh Government providing that you do not travel by car to the fishing spot and it is local to your house. Social distancing measures must be adhered to and you must be fishing alone or with one other member of your household. Sea Fishing on boats is still not permitted.
We will continue to keep an eye on the advice from Welsh Government, British Marine, RYA and MCA with a view to reopening the marina as soon as possible.
