Between the Trees Festival
Between the Trees takes place at Merthyr Mawr National Nature Reserve, South Wales over the Bank Holiday weekend. It's held on a 100 acre woodland site, next to the largest sand dunes in the UK and a short distance from the sea. It features indie, contemporary and traditional folk music, art, spoken word as well as talks and workshops on nature, environmental science, biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
Music: A great line-up of indie, contemporary & traditional folk music over 3 days, from intimate acoustic solo performances to foot stomping big bands
Words in the Woods: Lose yourselves amongst the thinkers and the dreamers. With support from Literature Wales and Seren Book Publishers, we present a fine medley of authors, speakers and poets in the Seren Barn.
Nature & Science: Listen to talks by knowledgeable naturalists and academics, debate current issues in conservation, sustainability and medicine or take time out to watch a nature documentary film. Explore the natural world
through “hands-on” science workshops.
Creative Art:There are workshops for all ages where you can make natural ephemeral land art or enjoy a masterclass session in watercolour and sketching with one of our artists in residence.
Wellbeing & Mindfulness: An array of healing experiences Including massage, Yoga and Qigong. Reconnect with nature with a mindful forest walk, where you will be guided through the quiet areas of the 100-acre festival woodland site and enjoy the experience of forest bathing.
