Newton is the most easterly beach at Porthcawl and is a ten minute walk from the picturesque village of Newton.
The most westerly pair of Porthcawl’s bays and beaches, Pink Bay and Sker may not be as accessible as the more easterly beaches, but they’re quieter and unspoilt because of it.
The museum has a great many collections on offer, including the 49th Reconnaisance Regiment formed in 1941, Samtampa Disaster 1947, Railways, The Great War exhibition, archaeological finds and records from local churches.

The Porthcawl 10K is an exciting race in the seaside town known for its surf, sports and coastal walks. The race takes place on closed-roads, taking in a number of landmarks and stunning seaside spots including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse.
A host of beautiful models will descend on the Town Centre on Saturday 13 July, when the Bridgend Classic Vehicle Show makes a return trip. There’s plenty of variety on display for the enthusiasts this year Last year the show attracted over 100 plus vehicles and more than 2,000 visitors from all over the region and further afield (despite the weather).
The Beach Academy would like to invite you to a Free Beach School at Restbay Beach in Porthcawl. It will take place between 10.30-12.00. Please wear sensible outdoor clothes and waterproof shoes. All welcome.
