Although some beaches are off-limits for dogs between 1st May and 30th September, there are still plenty of long sandy stretches where your dog can enjoy beach life! If you visit on the third Sunday of the month, you’ll find a vibrant farmer’s market, and with the addition of a new gift shop in the visitor centre, there’s plenty to see and do!
As well as exploring epic natural spaces along the coast, you and your dog can wander inland through beautiful countryside at Parc Slip Nature Reserve and Bryngarw Country Park, both mapped out as Valleys Regional Park Discovery Gateways for their connections to the heritage of the valleys and of course, being spectacular places to enjoy nature!

With vast green spaces and mighty mountains to discover, there are plenty of scenic routes throughout Bridgend County to delight dog-walkers! In the Garw Valley you can meander through lush forestry and stop off to admire the lakeside view at Parc Calon Lan, or in the Llynfi Valley discover how nature has reclaimed the land from Bridgend’s industrial past with the Spirit of Llynfi Woodland.
