South of the Old Workhouse is the former office for the workforce – the Grade II Listed ‘Union Office’ built in 1911 in Edwardian classical style. The building is single storey with a low sloping hipped roof containing terracotta tiles along its hip and large chimneys set towards the end of the roof. The chimneys are built out of yellow brick whilst the rest of the building is light coloured stone. This could mean that they are a later feature to the building.

The building’s front elevation is symmetrical with a decorative central doorway with finely worked stone and architectural grooves (known as ashlar cuts). On either side of the wooden door are thick ribbon or squared scrolls. Above the doorway is a squared pediment which contains the wording ‘UNION OFFICES 1911’. The Union Offices became a Community Health Clinic and are now used as a community wellbeing facility. The building is a rare example of a single storey classical styled building of its type in Wales.
